HIGHLIGHTS

Freestone Renewables is a renewable energy developer focused on solar, energy storage, and wind. The company balances renewable development with land stewardship and partners with landowners, best-in-class developers, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors, utilities, municipalities, and commercial and industrial (C&I) customers to power the clean energy transition. Freestone Renewables is a privately owned, well-funded company supported by Apollo Global Management as an equity investor.

THE CHALLENGE

After years operating as Freestone Midstream — an integrated water midstream and water management company focused on acquiring, developing, and operating top-tier water assets for the onshore U.S. energy industry — the team of energy industry veterans decided to transition to renewable energy. In 2020, they formed Freestone Renewables, a renewable energy development company with a focus on land stewardship. With this shift, the leadership team needed a new website to communicate its services to a new target audience.

Starting with only a logo and a vision, the team enlisted DG+ to bring its brand and story to life.

SOLUTION

ollowing a series of internal interviews, competitive analysis, and strategy sessions, DG+ developed a messaging foundation and brand design to create the Freestone Renewables website. As the company is in its early stages, DG+ emphasized telling the story of the team’s decades of experience while highlighting its unique approach to land stewardship.

Designed to educate landowners about the benefits of using their land for renewable energy and to inform industry partners about the value of collaborating with Freestone, the website serves as an introduction and foundation for the young company’s growth.

Additionally, DG+ wrote and designed leave-behind sales collateral to further communicate Freestone’s services.

As a start-up company in a competitive industry, it was important for us to establish a web presence that lends credibility to the decades of experience our team of energy experts has, in addition to setting us apart. DG+ was able to achieve that and more with a stunning website that speaks to who we are now, while leaving room for us to build upon as we evolve and grow as a company.
