Julia Stevens

Associate, Marketing and Communications

As a Marketing and Communications Associate at DG+, Julia brings a wide-ranging background in clean energy communications and a passion for environmentalism. Born and raised in coastal southern California, she has had a lifelong love for nature and has seen firsthand the dangers posed by reliance on fossil fuels, from experiencing disastrous fires on California's central coast during her time studying Political Science at UCSB, to the 2021 oil spill in her hometown of Huntington Beach. Julia has worked on initiatives to promote renewable energy uptake in over 15 states, worked to secure the passage of California's landmark 100% renewable electricity legislation, and other efforts to combat climate change in a variety of settings, including at nonprofits, in government offices, in political campaigns, for corporate clients, and in grassroots activism. She is a proud nerd about all things related to transmission infrastructure and holds a special place in her heart for wind energy following her work with the American Wind Energy Association and the American Clean Power Association.

Julia lives in the Chicago suburbs with her partner Steven. She is an avid baker, hiker, and reader of Sherlock Holmes. While her days kayaking the Pacific Ocean may now be limited to visits out west, she has found a wonderful substitute canoeing on the Midwest's many lakes and rivers.
