Banyan Infrastructure offers an end-to-end project finance software platform for sustainable infrastructure. Having finished its Series A funding round in 2022, Banyan now had the capital to invest in resources to educate the market and begin communicating the value of its platform. Being a new technology in an underserved market segment, Banyan faced not only the challenge of marketing itself but also of describing the problem it solves to a market that has historically relied on siloed, inefficient processes. Essentially, Banyan was creating an entirely new technology segment for project finance.
THE CHALLENGE
Banyan Infrastructure came to DG+ ready to increase the brand’s thought leadership. The company needed to secure its reputation as a reliable expert in renewable energy project finance to support its software market penetration. Banyan had successfully completed a brand and website launch project with DG+ and now turned its focus to increasing its go-to-market momentum, particularly as shifting policy suddenly put the spotlight on its market segment.
SOLUTION
DG+ worked closely with the Banyan Infrastructure team to earn high-profile industry news, podcast, and event placements. DG+ identified internal spokespeople and crafted a media kit, relevant media and speaking pitch topics, and prepared spokespeople for media opportunities.
In Phase 1, DG+ succeeded in placing Banyan’s COO and Co-founder, Amanda Li, and CEO, Will Greene, as featured guests on several industry podcasts, including Watts Up, IGTE, and Factor This! As coached by the DG+ PR team, she focused on brand storytelling around Banyan Infrastructure’s origin, motivations, and novel solutions.
In Phase 2, DG+ shifted Banyan’s talking points to respond to active current events. This effort coincided with the establishment of new catalytic funding sources for renewable energy project finance. Banyan Infrastructure became an expert resource for outlets such as Infrastructure Investor, Impact Alpha, and Latitude Media, and headlined panels at industry events such as Intersolar to provide commentary on the rapidly evolving market. DG+ also led the rollout of key announcements during this phase, including Banyan’s partnerships with the Milken Institute's Community Infrastructure Center, Elemental Impact, SURE, and the Coalition for Green Capital. As the industry evolves, DG+ continues to support Banyan in adapting to current market conversations.
Additionally, DG+ continuously assists Banyan Infrastructure in authoring valuable owned media to grow its thought leadership presence. Banyan Infrastructure employs a blog strategy that prioritizes industry education and publishes research like the annual Project Finance Report, which invites additional media coverage.
